Abercorn Driving Academy is a state licensed program, providing training for young adults. We have been training students in the field of Driver Education since 1987. Georgia law requires our program to consist of 30 hours in the classroom and 6 individual hours behind the wheel training. By taking the classroom course, parents may be entitled to the $150 tax credit and 10% insurance discount.
All insurance companies for the Teenage Driver education discount accept the program certificate given at completion of the course.
Our winter schedule will be December 27-30 and January 2, 2017. The class hours will run 8:30am-3:30pm with an hour lunch (11:30am-12:30pm) each day. The students may bring lunch or be picked up. The driving portion of the program will be done at a later date and time.
Students must dress appropriately for class. Apparel too short or revealing is not allowed. All students must have a valid learner's permit before the behind the wheel driving can begin. Closed heel shoes must be worn during the driving sessions. Each student will receive training, which will allow him/her to develop into a defensive driver.
We have had several people express interest in this program, therefore seating will be on a first come, first serve basis. You may register by phone or at our office. The fee for the course is $350.00. You may pay by cash, check, credit card or debit card. A deposit of $100.00 is required to hold a spot for your teenager, and the balance must be paid before the class starts. We have a maximum of 20 students and a minimum of 8 students. We must have 8 students by 4:00pm the Friday before class begins or the class will be cancelled.
Individual Driving: $130.00 for a 2 hour session. Must have a learners permit.
